Ardi: The Walking Chimpanzee

The discovery of Ardipithecus gave great insight into human evolution.  It is what you might call a "missing link" between modern humans and our primate ancestors.  What makes it interesting is the skeletal structure that scientists have analyzed which shows that Ardipithecus was a bipedal species.  This means that, like us, they walked upright.  While Ardipithecus was still largely chimp in terms of physical characteristics, the slight adaptations provide great fossil evidence of the Homo sapien family tree.

Ardipithecus Revealed was compiled by Discovery magazine, a reputable reporting group in the science community.  The site is valid because it contains interviews with some of the scientists that discovered the Ardipithecus skeleton.
