The article I read was about what body parts humans dont need anymore. I learned that we dont need the wisdom teeth, the appendix and the Darwin's peak. This is all just a simple example of evolution through out long periods of time.

Plantaris Muscle

The plantaris muscle is a muscle in the foot that animals use to pick things up with their feet.  Our ape ancestors have this muscle nit they get better use of it then humans.  This is a sign of evolution because humans don't use their feet to pick things up, we only need our hands.  Nowadays, only about 9% of humans are born without it.  Also, if a person needs tissue reconstruction, the surgeon will use this tissue on some occasions.

Elephant

Elephants

About 50-60 million years ago, the ancestors of the modern elephant occupied a variety of extreme environments. Elephant use to be the size of pigs 50 to 60 million years ago. One possible explanation for their disappearance may be found in the inability of the order to evolve to environmental change fast enough. Both of the surviving African and Asian elephants have a wide range of attributes which give them the ability to survive and to even thrive in mild to extreme environmental conditions.
